I was wondering if students usually need a math credit for a communications major (public relations, media).. if so what and how many?

Is it ethical?

Hutchings school, Pune had held a christmas cantata in december. It was a huge thing. Kids had stayed back and went on saturdays extra to practice. Everyone had worked hard to make it a success. 180/- RS were asked from parents for dresses, that was paid up, no question asked. Now In january suddenly school sends a note asking parents to pay 80/-Rs for Backdrop and choreography. Its a reputed public school, I want to ask you all -is it ethical of the school to ask parents to pay for the stage set up and choreographers??…A school hired professional choreographers for the school function? Were parents consulted before that…NO? Why should parents pay them money for a function that they held to create PR for themselves and why did they held the function at such large scale when they obviously could not afford it. One more thing can you believe school hiring professionals for choreographing the school function? Is it a common practice and is it ethical?
Its not the question of 80 Rs but the practice of gathering money this school is indulging in. Last year they asked money for picnic and since it rained children could not go to the park they had selected and niether did they return the money nor did they arrange another picnic for the kids. May be because they had hired buses that time I don’t know but its becoming a practice with them cancelling picnics I mean. Money is not the question here but their attitude is.
sorry nothing is mentioned in their manuals as such regarding this issue.
Please mention if other schools too ask money for backdrops and choreography.
