Iraqi investigators have a videotape that shows Blackwater USA guards opened fire against civilians without provocation in an incident last week in which 11 people died, a senior Iraqi official said Saturday. He said the case was referred to the Iraqi judiciary.

Iraq’s president, meanwhile, demanded that the Americans release an Iranian arrested this week on suspicion of smuggling weapons to Shiite militias. The demand adds new strains to U.S.-Iraqi relations only days before a meeting between President Bush and Iraq’s Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki.

Interior Ministry spokesman Maj. Gen. Abdul-Karim Khalaf said Iraqi authorities had completed an investigation into the Sept. 16 shooting in Nisoor Square in western Baghdad and concluded that Blackwater guards were responsible for the deaths.

He told The Associated Press that the conclusion was based on witness statements as well as videotape shot by cameras at the nearby headquarters of the national police command.

Congress has simply been acting upon a Bush campaign promise made 7 years ago, and reaffirmed by Bush 7 months ago.

Obviously Turkey has a problem with the Kurds because America has been haboring a Kurdish terrorist network that has been making strikes on Turkish land, only to retreat back to Iraq where they are “safe”.

Do these, and other stories in the press, help or hurt race relations in this country? Would it improve if the media left race out of the stories? Instead of constantly referring to Obama as the first Black President, just calling him the 44th President.

Controversial candidates tend to gain huge media coverage…remember the saying, “Bad Public Relations(PR) is better than no PR at all?”

Think about the current Democratic candidates bidding for the nomination. Hillary, the first female to run for President, her stance on many controversial issues. Barrack, his nationality and issues on Iraq.

Is it because of our fascination with controversial leaders and all the media coverage, that ultimately they become such a household name inevitably leading some to jump on the bandwagon?

I’ve seen and read many reporters say Clinton/Obama ticket is unbeatable. You start seeing/hearing this enough times you start believing it. So really, is it the fascination with controversy associated with leaders/candidates that ultimately push them into the limelight giving them a better chance than your “average joe” presidential candidate?

These guys are taking on Newspapers and countering their reporting, and originate with former White House staff.
