on inter-american relations… my party would press for expanded trade roles and the abolishment of import/export tariffs across the americas. and would push for the creation of a hemispheric bank system which all peoples in the americas could use freely. no interest loans to latin american countries to build their infrastructure and modernize.
education: every american child regardless of their families position in society should have equal access to equal education. all schools nation wide shoul have the same curriculum, and all schools shoul be required to teach their children a foreign language to keep our futures competitive in the international market. and a subsidized college education for all students who get and maintain a 3.0 gpa for half of their highschool years, and throughout college.
cuba: a complete abolishment of the unjust embargo on the cuban people which leaves them no alternative but to continue to bow to castro and his oligarchy of the carribbean. questions?
i have traveled through latin america. we are all americans. i do not see a distiction because of a language barrier, and there should be none. the oligarchs that are currently in power will stay there until they are unseated. it is not enough to say yes i will, but you have to live the ideals that you profess.
i am seeing a lot of good answers. as far as the recent trend to socialism in the south, it is what the people desire. the cuban people have stolen nothing from us and a negative attitude towards latin america is just xenophobia.
the truth of the matter is that the oligarchs no longer have the interests of the people in their hearts. the government should always first and foremost move to enrish the lives and prosperity of all of it’s peoples.
i am not saying the plural governments should control a hemispheric bank of the americas. i am saying that there should be one place where all the nations of the americas can go.
i am not saying that sovereignty should be relinquished, but we should work toward hemispheric globalization.
i am not saying that the united states should foot the bill for this endeavor, but if we ustilize our knowledge we can help to modernize rapidly developing nations immediately to our south.
by forming a regional bloc across the americas that has eased trading restrictions we will stimulate unprecedented growth across the americas, by abolishing trade tariffs we lower the prices of our goods and services here and abroad. meanwhile it will create more jobs, and stimulate the expansion of the middle class. increasing tax revenues and improving the quality of life.
for those who think the US and CANADA would bank roll latin america. i am sorry, but countries like argentina and brazil give far more in foreign aide than the united states does… if anything their economies which are growing by double digits in some areas would suffer not ours which has been in a slump. do you honestly believe our 2.7% growth rates here stateside cut it? people complain about illegal immigration but when a plausible solution is offered they would rather draw down an iron curtain. i really don’t understand. the european union will continue to prosper and continue to be on the fast track to out do us in every way imaginable if we don’t move. we all are founded on colonial ideals, and we all cast off the bonds of colonial oppression two centuries ago. we have a simialr heritage, similar values and desires. latinn america is no longer the land of military juntas and drug smuggling. they have experianced nearly a decade of infrastructure building and prosperity…
