What major should I choose now & the majors I should choose once I transfer to a University? Or is it best to just get my A.A in something…then go to a 4 year school? ….I did research on Public Relations Specialist and it said I should Take either…1. Journalism, 2. Public Relations, 3. Communication, and 4. Marketing…. But I don’t think the school I chose offers all of those. The only two I see that’s close is “Journalism & Print Media” or “Speech Communication” or should I look for something Totally different??

By The Way …I was Looking At Kingsborough or BMCC (I didn’t even see journalism in this school, so I’m leaning more toward Kingsborough) …I live in NYC….So if any of you know any better Community Colleges in my area that offers the courses I need…feel free to let me know…Thanx In Advance :-)

I will study abroad in Australia. I know that i will need further education if i go for psychology, which is fine. But i don`t know if i will be able to work in this field if i get a degree in PR. Any ideas will be greatly appreciated.

I’m almost 30, will be going back to college after long illness/absence and am totaly unsure of what I want to do with my life. I met with a guidance counselor and took a test-useless. Anyway, breaking it down, I **** science, can’t do math-have math dyslexia,no to medical tho I know it pays well. I love the academic subjects psych. and sociology but that’s maybe too much school, too much work (P.h.D). I love to study people, not necessarily to help them, i.e social work or therapy (sorry). Love the subject of public relations (propaganda), media, advertising, etc. but you don’t make much in those fields as I understand. I want a practical, good paying, application of the fields of study I mentioned but w/o the long time at school if possible, or better still an actual career using these fields instead of just being an academic expert, know what I mean? Would journalism or Law be possibilites? I know this is a tall order. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you.

What is PR - Public Relations?

People talk a lot about PR when they are discussing politics and business, but what do they really mean? I have little concrete idea about it. Examples are expected.

Some careers listed are: communications research, regulatory agencies, advertising, public relations, consulting, audience measurement, communication positions in government, corporate, non-profit and cultural organizations.
I know what some of those are, but generally speaking: I don’t get it. Can someone explain some career choice ideas please.

i’m a student majoring PR, and i’m still confused about employee relations.would u mind helping me answering my question?

-someone with PR educational backgroud or work as an officer/manager communications is preferable.

I know this sounds a bit weird but I was watching some show on MTV, and this girl was talking about how she’s the “PR girl” meaning the public relations girl.

What do people in that job do?
How much is their pay?
Can anyone be in a PR career field?

I was just wondering because I need to start thinking about my future, even though I’m just 17.
