I graduated from Canada in July 2008 with MSc in computer engineering and my degree will be conferred in July 2009. I have no work experience after graduation, but I worked during the time I was in school.
1. Am I eligible to apply for the Canadian PR?

We are planning to go to canada and my wife is pregnant my immigration visa expires in July 2008, will i get medical of my wife from day one in canada or we have to take some medical insurance. If I have to come back to India in one month of stay without receiving PR card can I come back. And what will be the procedure of getting PR/Visa for new born baby in India again.

I am currently working in Singapore under Q1 Employment Pass and I would like to apply PR in Singapore. However, I have only been working for 7 months, should I wait for at least 1 year? Or I can apply for it now? Is there a quota for different countries for PR approval given by the Singapore government?

I’m a US PR and was convicted with a felony and served time for it. I recently traveled outside US and afraid that I might get sent back at the airport.

A Canada PR (permanent resident) is required to accumulate at least 2 years (out of every 5 years) of living in Canada in order to maintain the PR status. However I am wondering how they actually count the number of days a PR lived in Canada. When a person drives from the United States to Canada, neither US border officers nor Canada border officers record anything. When a person drives from Canada to the US, nothing is recorded either. If the person keeps traveling between the US and Canada without going to a 3rd country (so nothing is stamped on the passport), how does Canada immigration officers know how many days the person actually lives in Canada?

I am a new PR and will go to work in USA. I am considering leaving to USA to work for 2 years then return back so I can keep my PR status alive.

I need to know about the new canadian immigration law which states that Federal Skilled worker who fall under NOC could immigrate in 6-12 months. I need to know if any one applied under this new law and got a response for the same. If yes, How long does it takes to get a case file number from CIC.
And any clue how long does the entire process takes? that is, from sending the first application to getting the PR approved.

I should receive my Quebec Selection Certificate soon, how much time before I get a PR. In India it takes 1 year to process a Quebec selection certificate and 5 years for a PR.
Does that mean I will have to live in Quebec for 4 years before I get my PR itself?
