Dec 6

So. I’m a second year in college in TN right now. The economy is tight and the tuition at my college is going insanely high. On top of that, I’m struggling in school. I do so well in my hands-on classes but the traditional classes fail me miserably. I’m tired of failing at school and want to do something more productive with my life.

So. I decided to volunteer. Since I don’t have a degree, I can’t join the Peace Corps. I would love to travel aboard, but for a year, I bet it’s expensive. I’m looking to spend no more than 3k total.

My experience is all in Journalism/Social Media/Public Relations. I go to school for Print Journalism (which is a dying field and making me even more upset and anxious to get away from here) and I’ve work on the college’s newspaper staff as a writer and photographer for a year. I’ve worked on the college’s magazine staff as a photographer for a semester and art director for a year. I have an internship through the college’s PR department and run a blog.

I’ve worked with severely mentally and psychically disable students for a year when I was a senior in high school and loved it. If I was intelligent enough, I’d go to school for Occupational Therapy.

I’m 21. Perfect health. Ready to leave this Tennessee and do some good for this country. Help me out.
