What’s the best way to earn a career in graphic design when I’m already getting a degree in Public Relations?

I’m going to be graduating in a few months with a degree in Public Relations. The thing is, I’m more passionate about graphic arts and computer animation. I’ve taken classes before in both, but never got a degree. What’s the best way to gain a career in this field without having to get an additonal degree? Also, can anyone recommend a program, book, etc. that can teach me conceptualization skills for graphic design? Thanks for all the help.

make you a deal; you use as much of your PR skills to promo my
two companies, and I will help you with both that firm and
the graphic arts and animation that you want to enter.
I have a TV show idea for your animation! [ne, as a biz
    adviser!~]

you probably can’t get a job in that field without the additional courses/degree - you are competing against people who have degrees in Graphic Design who will be much for qualified than you
