Is John McCain too old to run for president or does he simply suffer from some affliction?
At a press availability today, John McCain expressed concern about relations between Russia and a country that hasn’t existed for quite some time. According to a rough pool report transcript, he said:
“I was concerned about a couple of steps that the Russian government took in the last several days. One was reducing the energy supplies to Czechoslovakia. Apparently that is in reaction to the Czech’s agreement with us concerning missile defense, and again some of the Russian now announcement they are now retargeting new targets, something they abandoned at the end of the Cold War, is also a concern.”
Czechoslovakia, of course, split into two separate countries in 1993.
It isn’t the first time McCain has made this mistake!

Sounds like the 57 state flub from Comrade Obama. Nobody’s perfect, except your beloved Obama of course.

Has obama visited all 57 states yet?

Seems like visiting all 57 States is more of a faux pas in the real world

Because he is old and confused. Its a sin that he is being allowed to run. He will bring nothing but more ridicule to our country.

what would you have him call the country? It’s still Czech to so many people!

Did Obama finally get those breathalyzers for the asthma sufferers yet?

Instead of saying “Czech Republic” or “former Czechoslovakia”, he said “Czechoslovakia” - it’s really not that big a deal. The basic idea behind what he is talking about is correct. This brings up another point though, Obama wants to CUT our missile defense and the fact that Russia is going to such measures to stop cooperation with the U.S. for our system should tell us something about it’s effectiveness and why it should not be something we cut.

Who cares. It really was Czechoslovakia for most of McCain’s life.

He should be president of a fictional country and let ther citizens pay double for gas so bilionaires can profit from a war they wont pay taxes for

he really has to get this repeated Czech slip up corrected. I don’t know what the problem is with him and this kind of stuff. It’s like he’s stuck in 1990. I’m trying to give him the benefit of the doubt, but geez, how many times can we give him a pass?
I’m not voting for him, but it’s embarrassing to hear the candidate for president sounding clueless!

ANSWER: for this slip up, it probably was just an oversight - but that doesn’t explain the rest of his problems!!
and for the one that mentioned “57 states” Obama was referring to the states and territories voting during the democratic nomination process [and there were 57 total]……(yet another swing and a miss - love it)

Sometimes the politicians don’t know their feet from their mouth, and they put one or the other in it. Yes, both presidential candidate made faux pas remarks but it was probably made by their writers and advisers first. Even you and I make some boners.

So Obama girl … you never ever made any mistakes have you? Lets see: go on the road for now what … over 8 months? have 16 hours days … do meetings, conferences, calls, interviews while trying to juggle a private life and family … and expect to be perfect every time, anytime. Hum even you young thing would probably stumble in the first few weeks.
But hey if you feel good about bashing on an old man that could still carry you on his shoulders for miles … go ahead knock yourself out. I noticed though that Obama’s supporters have increased their personal attacks on McCain … Do I smell fear? it sure sounds like it. Peace!
