Dare! Can any body give any convincing evidence that the press is biased to HELP Obama win the election?

I don’t see how press coverage of all of this has helped him:
Reverend Wright around the clock for most of March.
Bittergate.
Muslim rumors.
Osama mispronunciations.
Farrakhan.
‘Lost His Bearings’ Gate.

Now, even I have to admit that he is getting the better deal during the Europe trip, but that is only because McCain is not generating any thing for the media to cover.
If you wanted to sell a story what would you put?
Blank has discussion at restaurant in Pennsylvania in front of 10 people.
or
Blank gives speech in Berlin on U.S- Europe relations in front of 200,000 people.
This is a question:
Question a: Can you give convincing evidence of media bias?
Question b: If you wanted to sell a news paper, what would you put on the front cover?
Fell free to answer either question, or both.

  1. NO OBAMA 08 Says:

Well I think it’s absolutely obvious. do you have any doubt about it ? haven’t ever watched BBC or CNN ? they’re noticeably backing him . what a shame .

  2. Portland Says:

Are you kidding me! Name one other candidate who has traveled the world, acting as if he is already the President? Not Hillary, Not Edwards, Not McCain…are you that blind?

  3. bravozulu Says:

That wasn’t the Press. It was Hillary and she has powerful friends that keep democrat party hacks, I mean the press, in line. There is absolutely no question that they have abandoned all pretense of impartiality. One example is the dim wit at the NY times that said he wouldn’t publish McCain unless he listed timelines for withdrawing.

  4. Angeleyes Says:

2 hour air time to give a speech on race the day after the Rev Wright issue.
2 hr air time to give the speech in Berlin
op-ed time where as McCain was asked to change it to be like Obama’s
Black in America on CNN every single night this week! I dont think I need to say more! This was clearly due to the fact that we have a black candidate.

  5. bluechristy12 Says:

May be the press Just knows a Good thing when they see it.
    Go Obama

  6. jackbauer Says:

McCain goes to Iraq 8 times, barely a caomera in sight. Obama goes for 2nd time in 2 years, and brings the entire national press corp with him. I dunno, you tell me?

  7. diofanbo Says:

oh boo hoo America is ****** cuz we never had a black pesident… there feel better now hey btw pencil in Collon Powell I’ll vote for him again but not Obama

  8. Owen Newitt's duck Says:

I can give plenty of examples of the media trying to shoot Senator Obama down. Currently they are doing with McCain what they did with Hillary. They will show a spot on Senator Obama and then give the other candidate a chance to comment on it, with no rebuttal. Pretty one-sided.

But isn’t it funny that the whine today is that Senator Obama looks too presidential on his tour. Boggles the mind!

  9. Jill M Says:

I am so sorry that you are deaf and blind or do not listen to the mainstream media.

    A. He has been on the cover of 4 national magazines in the past year. Even when he makes terrible mistakes - the press forgives him and most often will not even mention it (he doesn’t know who he is going to ‘command’ that is over the Iraq war) Talking about being a teflon candidate!

They cover him 24/7 and more often than not have ONLY good things to say about him. Rev Wright was one of the few times they criticized him at all.

    B. I would put McCain on the cover - proposing Senate Bills for Drilling for Oil in ANWR and Off Shore, getting strong on the illegal immigration, building the Fence between US/Mexico, and it would be READ!

  10. gat Says:

the amount of time spent on each person, what they say about each person, one needs to pay close attention, The media paints Obama in a brighter light than McCain [newspaper] article Barack Hussein Obama is a fresh new face , people adored him, Is McCains age a factor as president, etc, etc.

  11. dav8d Says:

No, not at all. Thanks for a question that is actually informed.

Maybe Obama’s great sin is creating his own good reputation. This last week CBS (Katie Couric Show) edited out a very erroneous statement McCain made. It showed in the transcript but the film was clipped out of the final interview.

She later BANGED on Obama about why he “objected to the troop surge”. She just would not let it go. She cornered him on yes-no questions like Stephanopolous did in the final Obama / Clinton debate.

  12. justgetitright Says:

To start with Blank in Europe with 200,000 people in attendance were not there specifically to see Obama, there was a FREE concert, actually there were two free concerts, one just before Obama spoke and one immediately after Obama spoke.

Now to answer your question, take a look at this web link (the bottom link) it will show you that Obama is getting much more coverage than McCain. (Obama is in blue)

The top graph only represents the number of web searches for information

This link is between Obama and Clinton

    Now McCain and Clinton

To answer your second question, if I wanted to sell news papers I would put the words “THE TRUTH” right across the front, in that news paper would be facts not fiction about Obama and McCain as well as to report on all of the bills that are being voted on in Congress as well as all of the other states. I would report Congressional voting records and everything else that is true about our elected leaders.

Did you happen to catch the phrase that came out of Obama’s mouth about building wealth and then redistributing it equally ? A true mark of a socialist.

  13. Mac Says:

    This was on Fox today:

“An analysis of federal records shows that the amount of money contributed during this election cycle by journalists favors Democrats over Republicans by a margin of 15 to one.

Investor’s Business Daily reports 235 journalists have donated more than $225,000 to Democrats and just 20 journalists have given around $16,000 to Republicans.

An even greater disparity — 20 to one — exists between the number of journalists who have donated to Barack Obama over John McCain.

Individuals who are employed by major media organizations have given more than $315,000 to Democrats and about $23,000 to Republicans. . . ”

The second point of evidence is that only Fox reported it. (That probably went right over your head! LOL )
