Right now I’m in college studying marketing, then after that I hope to get my master’s studying public relations. Would it be beneficial to take a few classes and study up on a new language, or would it not really matter at all?

Learning another language is always desirable. It will never hurt, it will always help.
If you can , select a language that is widely spoken, or from a country that is dominant in the economic scene - like Chinese, or French, or Spanish. Don’t learn exotic languages like Swahili or Tagalog unless you do it for the enjoyment.
