You should hire a full time public relations business to get the word out about your part time public relations business.

I’m sure you can find a competent one in your area, who wouldn’t mind competition from you (yea, right).

Maybe you should put a coupon in one of those penny-saver papers.

Wait, how you can you have opened a business and not know how to go about it?
Especially in public relations… you are a liaison. Your job is to talk.
    Your question doesn’t make sense.

Make some business cards and hand one out to every person you come in contact with. I don’t pay for any advertising. 10 years ago I was in the same position…now I am bombarded because word of MOUTH is the BEST source of advertising you’ll ever have. So, do the job Right with everyone, no shortcuts…EVER

Using your PR savvy-ness… go to as many public functions as possible…get out there and introduce yourself and prepare a target list of specialties that you are strong in…utilize ideas from people even who are not as experienced…new ideas are very fundamental in a growing business…gather info from a marketing/sales consultant whom you may know of and develop a strategy of a plan from there…good luck….

Sorry to bombard you ;) Here’s a few ideas - some are aimed at CPAs but hopefully the ideas apply to other client-centered businesses. I think the first one is right up your alley with your experience writing for a newspaper. Also what about a newsletter for members of your chamber of commerce? If it has enough info to be useful, they’ll read it. If they like your style, they might want you to do the same thing for them. Hope this helps!
