Public Relations

Should I major in public relations or business or something else?
I am particularly interested in event management for public relations.

with a ba in business administration you can get either of these jobs

but i need more info on each job and what they do.

most info gets 10 points.

I have a bachelor’s degree in Journalism (2001), have been working in sports marketing full-time since then (six years at one job and one at my present).

Mainly website management (design and writing), public relations (press releases), event management and assisting marketing director.

In general I like what I do, but don’t feel my marketable skills are worth much nowadays.

It’s great that I have steady work, at a good job but feel like my career is floundering a bit. And I’m not making much money.

Anyone can suggest a way to jump start my engine? Thanks for any and all ideas!

I’m not one of those corporate-job types. Prefer more casual, but professional environments.
Grad degree might not be best option at this time. Two kids and a mortgage limit my time and money, plus the university is a 40+ minute drive after work (on a good day).

Project manager option is a good idea, though. Hadn’t considered it! Thanks, I’ll look into it.

I am a senior at university of Wisconsin- Milwaukee. I will be graduating in summer with a Jornalism and Mass Communication with a focus in Advertising and Public Relations.

Public Realtion in the Philippines

I have a Bachelor’s degree in Advertising/Public Relations. I’d like to go back to school so I can teach High School Marketing/Business/Technology in Indiana. Where do I start? Do I need to get a Master’s in Education? Or another Bachelor’s Degree? How many credits do I need?

In Pittsburgh are there any advertising and / or public relations agancies that are hiring or looking to hire on the entry level position or even an internship (paid) that could turn into a position afterwards?

I have been actively looking for employment in the fields of Advertising and Public Relations. Problem is that the only thing I can find is jobs that want me to sell useless things to the public outside of local businesses. I have taken courses in special events and promotions as well as creating billboards. I have even taken a campaigns class. I don’t exactly know where to look. I have tried career builder, yahoo hot jobs as well as monster. Still I keep getting everything but the companies that I am looking for. I know there has to be Advertising agencies in this city. The problem is I don’t know where to look. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
