I am a first attempt Chartered Accountant (ICAI) from India. I am planning to apply for a job in Australia. Is it so that if I have migration plans to Australia then I should firstly obtain a PR status of Australia and then apply for a job in that country. It has been told to me that only after getting a PR status it will be worth trying for a job in Australia.

I’ll be going to college pretty soon and my ideal future goal is to become a magazine editor. I thought about majoring in journalism but decided to do something else. I’m thinking about PR… but what exactly is it and what courses do I take in college and what should I major in? Will I be able to get a good job in PR? Is there any way to tie in fashion or magazine work into it?
Controversial candidates tend to gain huge media coverage…remember the saying, “Bad Public Relations(PR) is better than no PR at all?”
Think about the current Democratic candidates bidding for the nomination. Hillary, the first female to run for President, her stance on many controversial issues. Barrack, his nationality and issues on Iraq.
Is it because of our fascination with controversial leaders and all the media coverage, that ultimately they become such a household name inevitably leading some to jump on the bandwagon?
I’ve seen and read many reporters say Clinton/Obama ticket is unbeatable. You start seeing/hearing this enough times you start believing it. So really, is it the fascination with controversy associated with leaders/candidates that ultimately push them into the limelight giving them a better chance than your “average joe” presidential candidate?
I’m a freshman and I am very interested in the medium between businesses/organizations and the people/customers. So should I get a B.A. in Public Relations and minor in Marketing, getting experience in both… or should I get a B.B.A. in Marketing, getting the boring Finance/Accounting experience instead of PR? Basically, do employers in the field look for “know-how” or the “prestige” of a B.B.A?
I am a Mass Comm major at TX State and I am getting to the point where I have to pick a field. I am sooo stuck! Print is a dying art I know. But it is something I really do enjoy. My parents think I should be a reporter bc I am young and pretty (blah they have to say that) and my friends think I should do PR because I am the one person that can get things done.
I don’t know what to choose. I know you don’t know me but if you had to choose a fiend of journalism for you what would you pick?
Oh and my minor is photography. That is one thing I do know for sure.
Any ideas or suggestions? Again I know you don’t know me and I don’t know you but if you could just give me you opinion I would be very great full. What would you pick if you had to?
Gah I meant field not fiend. Sorry for the typo.
