I thought he was stupid and they were smart?
Top House Democrats retreated Monday from an attempt to limit President Bush’s authority for taking military action against Iran as the leadership concentrated on a looming confrontation with the White House over the Iraq war.
Officials said Speaker Nancy Pelosi (news, bio, voting record) and other members of the leadership had decided to strip from a major military spending bill a requirement for Bush to gain approval from Congress before moving against Iran.
Conservative Democrats as well as lawmakers concerned about the possible impact on Israel had argued for the change in strategy.

You do realize how ridiculous it is to look at politics as a cut and dried competition between two teams?
The goal of politicians is to voice the will of their constituents (even though this sometimes doesn’t happen) and to improve the country it is not to win.
So the Democrats may have aimed a little high on sactioning the President, at least there is some oversight going on.

Take a Political Science course in American Government. It’s all about give and take(compromise).Bush would have vetoed the Bill.It would have made it a long drawn out fight. It’s called politics.Bush isn’t kicking anybody’s **** but his own as well as tens of thousands of young Americans everyday in Iraq!!

Here’s the issue: The Dumb-ocrats ran sole on the platform of I don’t support the President. They always said he was wrong, without actually saying what they would do different. The just knew that if they got in, that was a free paycheck (for life if I remember my Poly-Sci). Now that they are in power they are quickly showing that they have absolutely no idea what to do, except pass meaningless resolutions in support of gays, or against republicans. At least the President has a plan. As a military member let me just say that I always prefer the republicans to the dems. Not out of sheer, blind partisanship, but out of concern for political beliefs, and concern for the betterment of the nation.

It looked like the Democrats almost took a stand when they voted for that Iraq resolution. I predicted that they would fold when the supplemental budget comes up but they folded before there was even a vote. That’s pathetic.
