Please help recent comm grad looking for Ad/Mrktng/PR job w/ no experience?


I graduated with a 3.7 but have no job experience except working customer service with a telecommunications company for the last three years of college. I’m interested in going into Advertising/Marketing/PR, can anyone tell me how to get my foot in the door?

    While you are job hunting, I’d suggest getting some practical experience by volunteering to do that work with non-profits, etc. Its an easy way to start building your portfolio and get some references.

    Contact your local television stations, radio stations, and newspapers. Because they all deal with PR people. Ask the receptionist if they know somebody at their station who deals with local PR people. See if you could talk to that person and explain what your situation is and I am sure they would give you the right names of people and numbers to contact to get you on the right foot. I work in the media and I deal with PR people all the time at different events. Trust me, they can be life savers for you working in the media!!! Good Luck!
