I’m specifically looking for advertising agencies and firms who manage marketing activities for their clients through account managers. PR firms can be included within this stat.
So far there have been two suggestions that I contact my local chamber of commerce. I’m looking to find out the total number of marketing firms in Massachusetts. I don’t know how contacting my local chamber of commerce will help me get this answer on a state-wide basis. I think I misunderstood the value of Yahoo! Answers:)

You might try checking with your local Chamber of Commerce for a starting point. If you can’t get the info. you need from them, there’s always the phone book.

As mentioned above, chambers of commerce can get you started on the route to discovering the answer here. You may also want to check with Hoovers.com to do a bit more research into these firms.
