I am very new to blogging. I want to increase the page view of my blog and want it to be seen by more visitors daily. My blog is with blogger.com and the url is http://academicportfolio-sudipa.blogspot.com/ Please suggest me how do I increase the page view. My Google PR is zero (:() I wish I could be able to increase it also. Ooops, I forgot to tell you that I do not have money to invest right now (Till I can’t get a steady online income, ;)), so only FREE methods are needed right now. Later, if I can do well with my blog, I will definitely invest.
How do I make more visitors in my blog?

Look, on the web is published 85 millions of blogs and little more than 100 millions of sites. Be realistic…who knows for your blog? Just your friends. It is same situation with my site. But try with some promotional leaflets and distribute em in your city, try with newspapers marketing (free ads)…in one word…be PERSISTENT! Type in the search bar word veradisca and link on and you’ll see how it works. Best Regards, Neven.

Many make the mistake of believing that once they create a blog, people will immediately flock to it. There are millions out there so why would they visit your blog?
Here are some ways you can promote your blog
1. Create great content – everything starts with great content. Think ‘Linkbait — or writing about stuff that would be so great that people will want to link to you. It can be a news hook where you write about something that is contrary to what everyone else is saying; resource hook where you have the only information available or humor hook.
2. Update the content regularly – make your visitors come back again and again to your blog by providing daily updates (even multiple posts per day!)
3. Submit your blog to blog directories such as
Technorati…
Blogstreet
blogwise
boingboing
2rss
WeBlogALot
Globe of Blogs
Blog Universe
The Truth Laid Bear
Memigo
BlogHop
Blogarama
Contents Matter
PubSub
BlogSearchEngine
EatonWeb
RDFTicker
Blogdigger
Bloogz
BLOG’z
Columbia Newsblaster mailto:
RocketInfo
HeadlineSpot
KIOSKEN
CRAYON
Kmax Bloglinks
BLOGCATALOG
BalticBlogs
Blogion
4. Network with other bloggers – comment on their blogs, read and link to other blogs and request them to link back to you
5. Email other bloggers – pitch your post to other bloggers and hope that they will link or mention your blog
6. Use techniques to showcase your blog – examples include meme games such as the Daily Meme or carnivals
7. You can try pay per click programs such as Google Adwords or Yahoo Search Marketing… – though the key is to carefully track your ROI and which keywords actually perform well
8. Make sure your blog is indexable by the search engines - and make sure that your titles have great keywords that your target audience are most likely to use
9. Send out press releases. While outfits charge as much as $650 per release, there are free press release submission places on the Web. Press releases allow you to (a) attract media attention; (b) get more back links to your website without sending each website an email request; and (c) get more visibility especially if your press release gets in Google News or Yahoo News.
………………
10. Submit articles with your blog posts. Write articles and submit them to websites accepting author submissions. You get exposure for your business; establishes you as an authority in your field, and allows you to get backlinks for your website. If 50 websites publish your article and it contains a link back to your website, then you easily get 50 links from a single article. The more links you have, the greater your chances for increasing your search engine rankings.

I have found that the single best way to gain traffic is to use social bookmarking sites such as Digg, Reddit, etc. I have provided the link - it has all of the social posting sites in one place. It takes some time to register with all these, but it is worth it in the long run.
If you do not have a Stumbleupon account, you are missing out on a ton of traffic.
Search Engine Content – Just like editors and web site owners are looking for content, so are search engines. The number one reason people go online is for information research, and by setting up ‘content rich’ web pages – the search engines will reward you with tons and tons of free visitors.
Also make sure you are putting your keywords on every post. This may seem little but has everything to do with how you are found by people.
Visit other people’s blogs and make good comments. You can often leave your link back to your site. But you have to make relevant, good comments otherwise it’s spamming.
Make sure you ping your blog after every new entry.
You might also try getting a Squidoo account and writing a lens about the topic of your blog, or even about yourself. Then simply link to your blog. Squidoo gets good rankings in Google and other search engines. It’s free, I use it to get traffic and it is one of the best ways I have found to increase traffic to my website and blogs.
Finally, try using SearchBigDaddy to increase your traffic. Easy to sign up and tons of ways once you are in to promote your blog and get traffic.
These are simple, basic, and best of all, free strategies that anyone who has good traffic uses to keep and increase their traffic.
Good luck!

The best way I have found is by networking through forums such as Blog Catalog and by leaving comments on other people’s blogs. Some general tips which might help, have more content, set the default to show more than 1 post for the front page. Check whether it is easy to navigate.
